Former Chief Officer and pioneer of Integrated Offender Management

Still working for Probation senior management as National Secretary GMB/SCOOP (Society of Chief Officers of Probation). Previously Chief Officer, Staffordshire; and Deputy Chief Probation Officer, Greater Manchester. At Staffordshire, in the late 1990s, pioneered the management of “prolific offenders” through joint Probation and Police partnerships. This work was put forward as the UK Government’s nomination for the European Crime Prevention Awards demonstration projects, subsequently mainstreamed into national policy as “Integrated Offender Management”. As Lead Officer for Community Safety, ACOP (Association of Chief Officers of Probation) represented Probation on Home Secretary’s Crime Reduction Task Force, also in late 1990s and early 2000s.
