Probation Institute Launch: The 2024 Sir Graham Smith Award Research Report

“Why do people engage with voluntary probation support?”

“We are delighted to offer a presentation of the most recent Sir Graham Smith Award Research Report. We will hear from Nicola Robinson author of the report and from Fiona Campbell Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice. All welcome.”

Research conducted in 2024 by Nicola Robinson probation officer in the Falkland Islands Probation exploring the experience of men living in the Falkland Islands that chose to engage with probation services in a voluntary basis.

At this event we will also be:

  • hearing from the founders of the Criminal Justice Overseas Network and;

  • introducing the new Probation Institute Research Awards replacing the Sir Graham Smith Awards from 2026.

The new awards include a category for general research in criminal justice and also for women in the criminal justice system sponsored by the Griffins Society.

Please join us online to learn about this very interesting practice based research project. The report is available on the Probation Institute website.
